Dance... We move to the music... all kinds of music.
Game... It's realtime puzzle solving, with the caller making sure we win.
Team Sport... You can't do this by yourself; it's you and seven other dancers playing together.
Exercise... At the end of an evening's dancing, you'll have moved several miles. It sure beats a treadmill!
Social Activity... Because square dancers "do it" in groups of 8, we tend to be friendly folk.
Community... We're a community of dancers, and we're part of larger communities... our own local gay and lesbian community and the worldwide community of gay and lesbian square dancers.
Lifestyle... Life is short, so we dance hard.
Fun... Participation in group smiling, laughter, and hugs required!
All dancing takes place at the ASDC - exact times here):
Monday: Basic, Mainstream, Plus
Tuesday: C1, Advanced
Periodically we hold SPECIAL DANCES or EVENTS.

The Albuquerque Square Dance Center is open to everyone in the square dance community. It is a wonderful place to dance and socialize. It's smoke-free, alcohol-free, has great acoustics and a smooth floating wood dance floor. People of all ages are welcome and if you come to dance with The Bunch, you don't need a partner.
The usual two halls divided by a sound wall can be combined into one large hall holding 30-40 squares. There are lots of parking spaces and a kitchen in each hall.
The ASDC is located at 4909-15 Hawkins St. NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109 (505-345-9797), one full block west of I-25, 1/2 block north of Ellison. Take the Ellison/San Antonio exit of highway, go west (away from Sandia mountains). Turn north (right) at the first intersection past the motels. This is Hawkins.
